Who we are

Elizabeth Anne began her nursing career in the Adult ICU just before the COVID-19 Pandemic. After graduating from Berry College in Rome, GA, she spent 4 years as a critical care nurse at Level I and II Trauma Centers in Georgia and South Carolina. Following her time in the ICU, she transitioned to serve as a Mother-Baby Nurse at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital in Charleston, SC.

Her husband and co-founder, Elijah, first came to Charleston by attending The Citadel, where he was awarded a degree in English, Fine Arts, and Communication. He currently leads operations and fundraising for the North Charleston Dental Outreach - a 501c3 nonprofit providing dental services to those in need, and is pursuing an MBA through Charleston Southern University. Elijah also serves as an Infantryman in the SC Army National Guard.

Elijah and EA know first-hand the growing pains of a young family! Together, they raise two fun-loving boys: Judah (2.5 years old) and Malachi (10 months). EA’s previous experience as a night nurse, desire to serve other families, and passion for holistic health and well-being helped launch Palmetto Baby Care.

When not working, you can usually find the Melendez family going on a run at Hampton Park, finding the best restaurant deals in Charleston, freaking out over all the fish in the Aquarium, or worshipping at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul (Anglican).

“Our hope is to help parents show up as the best version of themselves for their kids!”
